Puja Special to run between Gondia and Patna for Diwali, Chhath rush, three trips each way

Nagpur, October 31, 2026: Trains carry more passengers than usual around Diwali and Chhath. With this in mind, South East Central Railway is running a Puja Special between Gondia and Patna. The railway says the aim is to give passengers the convenience of travelling with confirmed berths. The train will make three trips each way on the Gondia-Patna-Gondia route.

Train No. 08895 Gondia-Patna Puja Special will leave Gondia every Friday from November 6 to November 20, 2026. On the return, Train No. 08896 Patna-Gondia Puja Special will leave Patna every Saturday from November 7 to November 21, 2026. In both directions it has commercial stoppages at the South East Central Railway stations of Gondia, Dongargarh, Rajnandgaon, Durg, Raipur, Bhatapara, Bilaspur, Champa and Raigarh.

The 08895 to Patna will leave Gondia at 12.30 on Friday. It will reach Dongargarh at 13.26 and leave at 13.28. At Rajnandgaon, arrival is at 13.50 and departure at 13.52. At Durg, arrival is at 14.45 and departure at 14.50. At Raipur, arrival is at 15.35 and departure at 15.40. At Bhatapara, arrival is at 16.30 and departure at 16.32. At Bilaspur, arrival is at 18.00 and departure at 18.10. At Champa, arrival is at 19.00 and departure at 19.02. At Raigarh, arrival is at 20.10 and departure at 20.12. At Jharsuguda, arrival is at 21.45 and departure at 21.47. At Rourkela, arrival is at 23.05 and departure at 23.15.

On the second day the train will reach Hatia at 02.10 and leave at 02.15. At Ranchi, arrival is at 02.30 and departure at 02.40. At Muri, arrival is at 03.43 and departure at 03.45. At Bokaro Steel City, arrival is at 05.05 and departure at 05.10. At Chandrapura, arrival is at 06.03 and departure at 06.05. At Dhanbad, arrival is at 07.05 and departure at 07.10. At Chittaranjan, arrival is at 08.53 and departure at 08.55. At Madhupur, arrival is at 09.48 and departure at 09.50. At Jasidih, arrival is at 10.43 and departure at 10.45. At Jhajha, arrival is at 11.50 and departure at 11.55. At Jamui, arrival is at 12.25 and departure at 12.27. At Kiul, arrival is at 13.05 and departure at 13.07. At Rajendranagar Terminal, arrival is at 15.38 and departure at 15.40. The train will then reach Patna station at 16.30.

The 08896 from Patna to Gondia will leave Patna at 18.10 on Saturday. At Rajendranagar Terminal, arrival is at 18.18 and departure at 18.20. At Kiul, arrival is at 20.45 and departure at 20.47. At Jamui, arrival is at 21.20 and departure at 21.22. At Jhajha, arrival is at 22.25 and departure at 22.30. At Jasidih, arrival is at 23.08 and departure at 23.10. On the second day the train will reach Chittaranjan at 00.18 and leave at 00.20. At Dhanbad, arrival is at 02.35 and departure at 02.40. At Chandrapura, arrival is at 03.45 and departure at 03.47. On the third day the train will reach Dongargarh at 00.15 and leave at 00.17. It will finally reach Gondia station at 03.00.

The Puja Special will have 20 coaches in all: 2 SLRD, 4 general, 10 sleeper, 3 AC-III and 1 AC-II. The railway has asked passengers to check the train's running days, timetable and stoppages on the railway's official website or the NTES or RailOne app before starting their journey.
