Nagpur, October 25, 2026. The Nagpur division of South East Central Railway has completed key work in the areas of rail safety, modern infrastructure and passenger amenities. A 48-metre-long bow-string girder was successfully launched at level crossing gate number 515 on the Gondia-Kachewani section.

Along with this, several other important works were completed in the division, including track renewal, turnout maintenance, machine-based tamping and sleeper renewal.

The works were carried out under the guidance of South East Central Railway General Manager Tarun Prakash. Divisional Railway Manager of the Nagpur division Deepak Kumar Gupta led them, and the work progressed under the supervision of Senior Divisional Engineer Gaurav Gajrani. Officers, engineers, supervisors and staff of the departments concerned worked together on it.

The biggest part of the work was the launch of the girder at gate number 515 on the Gondia-Kachewani section. The heavy engineering task was completed through careful planning, technical expertise and coordination among different departments. The girder will strengthen the structure concerned. It will also help create the infrastructure needed for the convenience and safe movement of road users in the level crossing area. Such works play an important role in modernising the railways and meeting the traffic needs of the area.

To maintain the quality, stability and reliability of the track, several track and turnout maintenance works were also carried out in the Nagpur division. These included renewal of three TWS, five WCMS and one TWSEJ. Such works help in the upkeep of the track structure and of the equipment related to points and crossings, keeping train operations reliable.

Maintenance work in the division also gathered pace with new machines. One point was tamped with a PCTM machine. In addition, three kilometres of track were tamped by machine, and sleeper renewal was completed on 315 metres of track with the help of a TRT machine. These improve track geometry, stability and the quality of maintenance. Machine-based work of this kind is important for maintaining the track to prescribed technical standards and ensuring safe and smooth train operations.

The launch of the bow-string girder, track and turnout renewal and machine-based maintenance show the technical capability, efficiency and commitment to safety of the Nagpur division. Putting rail safety above all, the Nagpur division of South East Central Railway is continuing to strengthen railway infrastructure with modern technology, better engineering management and prescribed safety standards. The success of these works is the result of the team spirit, dedication and joint effort of the officers, engineers, supervisors and staff.
