One arrested, pistol seized after firing in Nagpur's Jat Tarodi; second suspect absconding

Imamwada police in Nagpur have arrested one accused in connection with an alleged firing incident in the Jat Tarodi area. Two men are accused of abusing some youths, brandishing a pistol and firing one round at the ground to spread panic.

Police recovered a pistol and its magazine from the arrested accused. The second suspect is absconding and police are searching for him.

According to the information available, the incident took place on the night of October 4 in Jat Tarodi, which falls under the jurisdiction of Imamwada police station. The complainant has been named as Amey Dhurve, who was allegedly sitting with his friends near the Shitala Mata temple. Mrunal Gajbhiye and his associate, identified as Takku, then reached the spot in a four-wheeler.

The two allegedly abused Amey and his friends, brandished a pistol, fired a round at the ground and fled. Police registered a case and began looking for the suspects.

During the investigation, police reportedly received a tip about a suspect. Acting on it, officers detained Nikhil Savadia last night from the Outer Ring Road area in Hudkeshwar. He lives in Patwardhan Apartment on Tekdi Road.

A pistol along with a magazine was allegedly recovered from him during a search.

Police sources said both accused have a prior criminal record. However, details of the earlier cases were not available for now.

The second accused is still absconding. Imamwada police are continuing their investigation and are trying to piece together the sequence of events.
