Nagpur Crime Branch arrests three for ganja peddling in Pachpaoli, seizes contraband worth Rs 2 lakh

The anti-narcotics squad of the Nagpur Crime Branch has arrested three people on charges of ganja peddling in a raid in the Tajnagar-Teka area under the Pachpaoli police station limits. The police seized 1 kg 200 gm of ganja, two mobile phones and a moped from them. The entire haul has been valued at about Rs 2 lakh.

According to the police, the action took place in the early hours of Tuesday, when the squad was on patrol in the Pachpaoli police station area. During the patrol, three suspicious men were found standing near a moped on a public road in front of Israr Ansari's house in Tajnagar-Teka. The police detained the three and questioned them.

A search of the three yielded 1 kg 200 gm of ganja, which the police have valued at about Rs 1 lakh. Two mobile phones and a moped were also seized at the spot. The total value of the ganja, phones and moped together has been estimated at about Rs 2 lakh.

The accused have been identified as Salman Abdul Rahman, Sandeep alias Bhurya Lillare and Atiqur Rahman Mobin Rahman Ansari. A case has been registered against them under the NDPS Act. The investigation is continuing, and the three are at this stage only accused.

The police said the accused were allegedly keeping the ganja for sale with the aim of making a financial gain. The case has been registered at the Pachpaoli police station under the NDPS Act.

The Crime Branch has handed the three accused over to the Pachpaoli police along with the seized items. Further investigation is under way.
