MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar has written to the Chandrapur Superintendent of Police seeking the return of Home Guard personnel to the city's major junctions to manage traffic.

MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar has demanded that Home Guard personnel be deployed again, as before, at the major junctions of Chandrapur city. He has written to the Chandrapur Superintendent of Police in this regard.

In the letter, Mungantiwar said Home Guard personnel play a very important role in keeping the city's traffic smooth and making travel safe for people. Handling traffic at major junctions, maintaining discipline among vehicles, preventing jams and helping pedestrians cross the road are all responsibilities the personnel carry out sincerely. Their presence brings discipline to traffic and gives people considerable relief.

According to the letter, Home Guard personnel were earlier assigned to traffic control so that traffic would flow well at the major junctions of Chandrapur city and vehicles would not jam. Their carefully planned deployment had brought discipline to the city's traffic. However, for the past few days the personnel posted at various junctions have not been seen on duty. This has raised the question of traffic control.

As a result, traffic at the major junctions is becoming disorderly, and pedestrians as well as motorists are facing difficulty. Mungantiwar said the possibility of accidents because of jams cannot be ruled out.

He underlined that Home Guard personnel are not merely traffic staff but an important support to the city's everyday public order. Whether in harsh sun or pouring rain, with growing numbers of vehicles on the roads or crowds during festivals and celebrations, the personnel carry out their duty in every situation. Their vigilance gives direction to traffic, saves people's time and strengthens safety on the road. It is therefore necessary to ensure their regular presence for traffic control, Mungantiwar stressed in the letter.

Against this background, the MLA has asked the Superintendent of Police to redeploy Home Guard personnel immediately, as before, at all major junctions of Chandrapur city. He expressed hope that traffic work would be carried out regularly through these personnel and that the city's traffic would remain disciplined. He said the personnel's contribution is essential for the city's safety and that it is also the administration's responsibility to make proper use of their dedicated service. Mungantiwar appealed that the demand be taken seriously and that the department concerned act immediately.
