MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar has written to the Chandrapur Superintendent of Police seeking the return of Home Guard personnel to the city's main squares to keep traffic orderly.

Home Guard personnel should be deployed again, as before, at the main squares of Chandrapur city, MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar has demanded in a letter to the district Superintendent of Police, Chandrapur. He said Home Guards play a very important role in keeping the city's traffic smooth and making travel safe for people.

In the letter, Mungantiwar said Home Guards had earlier been put on traffic control duty at the main squares of the Chandrapur metropolitan area so that traffic kept moving and vehicles did not pile up. Their presence, as planned, had brought discipline to the city's traffic. However, for the past few days the Home Guards posted at various squares have not been seen on duty, which has raised the question of traffic control.

As a result, traffic at the main squares is falling into disorder, and pedestrians as well as motorists are facing trouble. According to Mungantiwar, the possibility of accidents because of traffic jams cannot be ruled out.

He said Home Guards are not merely staff who handle traffic but an important support in the city's everyday public order. Whether it is harsh sun or heavy rain, rising vehicle movement on the roads, or crowds during festivals and celebrations, these personnel perform their duty in all conditions. Their vigilance gives direction to traffic, saves people's time and strengthens safety on the roads. Given the importance of their service, Mungantiwar underlined that it is necessary to ensure their regular presence for the city's traffic control.

Against this background, Mungantiwar has asked the Superintendent of Police to redeploy Home Guards immediately, as before, at all the main squares of the Chandrapur metropolitan area. He hopes these personnel will ensure that traffic is managed regularly and remains disciplined in the city.

Mungantiwar said the contribution of Home Guards is indispensable for the city's safety, and that it is also the administration's responsibility to make proper use of their dutiful service. He has therefore appealed to the department concerned to take the demand seriously and act at once.
