Motorola previews Signature 27 flagship with 200MP telephoto lens and seven years of updates

Motorola gave a first look at its next-generation flagship smartphone at India Mobile Congress 2026, held in Delhi. The phone is called the Motorola Signature 27 and belongs to the company's ultra-premium segment.

The company has designed the smartphone around three priorities: premium hardware, advanced imaging and long-term software support.

The Motorola Signature 27 will launch with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. The phone has an ArcticMesh cooling system and a six-antenna setup, which improves connectivity and network performance. The phone delivers better performance in heavy workloads, gaming and multitasking.

On the camera front, the device has a 50MP Sony Lytia 910 primary camera, along with a 200MP periscope telephoto lens. The camera system includes 3.5-axis optical image stabilisation, Qualcomm's electronic image stabilisation and Motorola's video enhancement engine. Together, these improve image quality, zoom photography and video stability, and the camera setup delivers good image quality in varied conditions.

For audio, the company has partnered with Bang & Olufsen, which has tuned audio for a smartphone for the first time. The brand is known for immersive music, gaming and video playback sound.

On software, the phone runs on Android 17 and supports an AI-powered assistant with integrated Google Gemini. The company claims it will provide seven years of operating system upgrades and seven years of security maintenance updates for the upcoming smartphone.

In colour options, the Motorola Signature 27 will be launched in Pantone Coal Smoke and Pantone Capulet Olive. The company has not yet shared the price or the remaining features and specifications of the smartphone. It is expected that the smartphone could be launched soon.
