Reliance Jio is preparing to bring out its first AI smart glasses, called Jio AI Glasses or JioFrames. The company gave a glimpse of the glasses at India Mobile Congress 2026. They run entirely on AI.

The glasses look like ordinary spectacles and are very light. Jio has built its own operating system for them, JioRealityOS.

The company has prepared two variants. The first, Audio Frames, has only a speaker and a microphone, allowing users to listen to songs and take calls. The second, the main model, is Smart Camera Frames, which has an HD camera and a visual intelligence sensor. It is being described as the real game changer.

The first feature is voice activation. Users need not touch the glasses; saying "Hello Jio" switches them on. Users can then ask them anything, from a Google search to weather information.

The second feature, described as the biggest, is payment by sight. A user at a shop who does not want to take out a phone can simply look at the shop's UPI QR code. The camera scans the code and the user can pay up to Rs 5,000 without touching the phone.

The third feature is translation in 12 languages. A traveller who cannot understand a signboard can look at it, and the glasses will translate it with the help of AI and speak the translation into the wearer's ear in Marathi or Hindi. They support 12 Indian languages in all.

The fourth feature is navigation and live streaming. A person riding a bike can get directions in the ear without holding a phone. YouTubers and content creators can also go live on Instagram or YouTube directly from the glasses.

On price and launch, the Meta and Ray-Ban glasses currently on the market cost more than Rs 30,000. Jio is understood to be planning to price its glasses below Rs 10,000. According to tech experts, they will launch at the end of this year, in November or December 2026. If they come in under Rs 10,000, a new revolution in wearable gadgets will begin in India.
