Man held for killing ex-sarpanch father after being told to stop drinking in Nagpur district
Police have detained Ankit Kapse, 30, accused of attacking his father Dharmendra Kapse, 52, with an iron crowbar at Chichali under Khaparkheda police station limits.

Nagpur: A youth, allegedly drunk, killed his father at Chichali in Babulkheda under the Khaparkheda police station limits. The deceased is Dharmendra Kapse (52). Police have detained the accused son, Ankit Dharmendra Kapse (30). Dharmendra Kapse was a former sarpanch of the Babulkheda-Chicholi gram panchayat.
According to police sources, Ankit was addicted to alcohol, and this often led to quarrels with his parents. His wife has also gone to her parents' home because of his addiction.
With no farm work to do, Dharmendra Kapse and his wife Anita had gone to Pari for some time, to Ankit's maternal relatives' home. Both returned on Wednesday afternoon. Dharmendra was unwell and had difficulty walking.
On Thursday morning, Dharmendra was sitting at the house of a neighbour, Nimbarkar, when Ankit arrived. The two argued over his drinking habit. Dharmendra told him not to drink. In response, Ankit began beating his father. He went home, fetched an iron crowbar and attacked his father with it. Dharmendra Kapse died of serious injuries.
Ankit fled after the incident. Teams of Crime Branch Unit-6 and Unit-3 worked together and detained him on the basis of his mobile phone location. Khaparkheda police have registered a case of murder.
