Mahindra launches XUV 3XO CNG with turbo engine, priced from Rs 9.99 lakh ex-showroom

Demand for CNG SUVs is rising in the Indian car market. Mahindra has launched the CNG variant of its popular XUV 3XO in India. The XUV 3XO CNG (ZNG) starts at Rs 9.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The SUV comes with a turbo engine, a twin-cylinder setup and features useful for families. It could be a new option for customers who want to cut petrol costs and want the SUV experience.

The car is available in four variants. The MX EDGE is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh, the REVX EDGE (O) at Rs 10.79 lakh and the AX5 at Rs 11.19 lakh. The top variant, REVX A, costs Rs 12.27 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. Features and equipment may differ by variant.

The SUV has a 1.2-litre mStallion G12 turbo MPFI engine. The engine produces about 110 hp of power and 200 Nm of torque. According to the company's claim, the car can reach 60 km/h from a standstill in 4.9 seconds and 100 km/h in 11.8 seconds. Getting a turbo engine on CNG is a key highlight of the model.

Mahindra has claimed a mileage of 24.7 km/kg for the car. Actual mileage can vary with driving style, traffic and road conditions. The model has two CNG cylinders fitted under the boot floor, so the space above can be used to carry luggage. A separate fuel selection switch in the cabin lets the driver change between petrol and CNG.

On safety, the XUV 3XO CNG has 6 airbags, 4 disc brakes, ISOFIX child seat mounts and 3-point seatbelts for all passengers. The company has said it comes with 35 standard safety features. It also gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, an electric sunroof and 16-inch alloy wheels.
