A relationship that began on Instagram in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and led to marriage has ended in a case against the husband, who is accused of defaming his wife. According to the complaint, he sent videos of her private moments to her relatives' mobile phones. The matter came to light on October 15, and a case has been registered at MIDC Waluj police station.
The accused is Bhagwan Ramhari Ghuge, 24. The complaint also alleges that the woman was pressured into marriage, assaulted and threatened with death. These are allegations made in the complaint.
The complainant is 30 years old. She told police that she got to know Ghuge on Instagram seven or eight months ago, and the two later became involved in a relationship. According to the complaint, in April 2026 Ghuge called her to a lodge in Pandharpur, MIDC Waluj. It is alleged that she was kept there for two days and that he had physical relations with her on the promise of marriage.
The complaint further states that physical relations were also had several times afterwards at a rented room in Wadgaon Kolhati. The woman alleges that videos of their private moments were recorded on a mobile phone during this time.
According to the complaint, on October 10 Ghuge called her to the lodge again. When an argument over marriage broke out, he allegedly assaulted her and threatened to kill her. The next day, October 11, the two married according to Hindu rites at the Shri Ganadhish Vedic Vivah Sanstha in Ladgaon. However, their families were not told of the marriage and the two were living separately.
On October 14, Ghuge went to the woman's house and took away two of her SIM cards. She got a new SIM card and gave him her number. In the evening Ghuge asked her to come to Wadgaon Kolhati, but she refused. The complaint alleges that he then threatened to make the videos of their private moments go viral. Late on October 15, the videos and wedding photographs were sent to the WhatsApp numbers of the woman's family members.
Assistant Inspector Sandeep Rajput is investigating the case further.
