Political temperatures are running high over the murder of Pradeep Purnekar, a divisional head of the Thackeray faction in Thane. Kishori Pednekar, a leader of the faction and former Mayor of Mumbai, has reacted sharply. She claimed that gangs are forming in Thane and also questioned the role of government agencies.

Pednekar said, "In fact, women are being orphaned. Gangs are forming in Mumbai, Thane and Nashik. What on earth happened in Thane? Our divisional head Purnekar was sacrificed in it." She said the police are investigating the case, but, given the way agencies are being used, she asked how anyone could trust the process.

Referring to a press conference by Meenakshi Shinde, Pednekar objected to the word "khasamkhas". She said the Purnekar family has put its position across directly. According to her, what matters more than allegations and counter-allegations is that the investigation brings out the truth.

Pednekar reacted in these words: "Do not take the name of a woman from a political family without reason. There is a difference between you and her. Uddhavji had extended a hand to you too. Be mindful when you speak about her home."

Pednekar also commented on the changing political and crime climate in Thane. She said, "The once-peaceful Thane now seems to be turning into 'Thananaan'." Meanwhile, the police investigation into the Pradeep Purnekar murder continues, and the real facts are awaited.

Pednekar also referred to the allegations being made against Aaditya Thackeray and Rashmi Thackeray. She asked, "Is being Uddhavji's wife a crime?"

Pednekar also said that if Rashmi Thackeray's name continues to be taken repeatedly, she will stand firmly with the Thackeray family. According to her, taking Rashmi Thackeray's name instead of rebutting the allegations is "defamation". She warned that the party's senior leaders will consider the matter and decide what action to take next.
