BJP corporators in the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) have taken an initiative to help drought victims in Maharashtra. All the party's corporators have decided to give one month's salary to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Through the move, the Kalyan-Dombivli BJP family has sent a message of social responsibility.

A single cheque covering the salaries of all the corporators was handed over to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund cell by BJP Kalyan district president Nandu Parab. The main aim of the initiative is that people hit hard by the drought receive help and are supported in a time of crisis.

Dipesh Mhatre, BJP Thane division publicity chief and corporator, also took part in the effort. He gave an additional Rs 1 lakh to help drought victims. Mhatre gave this amount separately, over and above the corporators' one-month salary, adding to the fund being raised for drought victims.

Whenever a natural disaster or other crisis strikes Maharashtra, different sections of society come together to help those in need. Continuing this tradition, the BJP corporators of Kalyan-Dombivli have decided to contribute for drought victims. The drought has created a range of difficulties for many people, and the initiative seeks to support those in distress through financial aid.

The initiative conveys the message that helping drought victims is not the government's responsibility alone and that every section of society must contribute according to its means. The decision was taken in a spirit of social responsibility, sensitivity and solidarity with people in distress. The elected representatives' decision to help from their own salaries could inspire others to join such efforts.

Financial help has thus been made available to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund through the corporators' one-month salary and Dipesh Mhatre's additional contribution of Rs 1 lakh. The intent behind the initiative is that people troubled by the drought get relief and that more people and organisations come forward to help.
