The National Testing Agency has allowed candidates who made mistakes in the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 form to submit a fresh application until November 22, 2026.

Candidates who made a mistake while filling the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 form no longer need to worry. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a notice allowing candidates to submit a fresh application.

Online forms are often filled in haste, and details such as name, spelling, category, educational qualification or examination city go wrong. Earlier, the correction window was the only option in such cases. The NTA has now clarified that candidates can submit a new application again if there is a major error in the form. According to the NTA notice, a fresh application can be submitted for JEE Main 2027 regardless of the application number received earlier or the fee already paid.

The new form can be filled only until 11:50 pm on November 22, 2026, and the fee must also be paid by then. Candidates who miss this deadline have one more chance. They can apply with a late fee from November 23 to 26, 2026, until 11:50 pm. If only minor corrections are needed in the form, the NTA has also opened a special correction facility window from November 27 to 29, 2026.

The question then arises as to which form will be counted if two are filled. The NTA rule is clear: of all the forms filled, the last one for which the fee has been paid and for which a confirmation page has been generated will be valid. If a candidate started a new form but did not complete the payment or confirmation, the form filled earlier will be treated as valid. Each new form will get a new application number, so candidates should not confuse the old and new numbers.

Candidates should note one point about the fee in particular. The examination fee paid on the old form will not be refunded and will not be adjusted against the new application. This means the full examination fee will have to be paid again with the new fresh form. Candidates should therefore cross-check all the information once before filling the form. Appearing in the examination for the same session with more than one application number will be treated as unfair means (UFM), and strict disciplinary action may follow.

While filling the new form, the entire process has to be repeated from the beginning. Along with name, eligibility and address, a new photograph, signature and all required documents must be uploaded again. In case of any technical problem or confusion, candidates can contact the NTA helpdesk on 011-40759000 or 011-69227700 from 8 am to 10 pm. They can also use the toll-free helpline 1800 180 4747, which works round the clock.
