NTA reschedules JEE Main, UGC NET, CSIR NET and CUET PG in revised exam calendar

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has changed the dates of several major examinations scheduled between December 2026 and April 2027. The reason given is administrative. The rescheduled exams include JEE Main, UGC NET, CSIR NET and CUET PG.

The new calendar has been uploaded to the NTA's official website, nta.ac.in. Candidates who have applied for these exams have been advised to drop the old schedule and plan their preparation according to the new dates.

JEE Main 2027 Session 1 was earlier to be held between January 22 and 24 and January 28 and 30, 2027. Under the new calendar, the exam will now be held from January 20 to 24 and on January 28, 2027. The NTA has also released the Session 2 schedule. That exam will be held from April 2 to 7, 2027.

The December session of UGC NET will now be held from December 14 to 18 and on December 21. It was earlier to be held between December 14 and 19. The December session of the Joint CSIR UGC NET has also been changed. It will now be held on three days, December 19, 22 and 27, whereas it was earlier proposed for December 20 and 21, 2026.

CUET PG 2027, for admission to postgraduate courses, will be held on different dates in March. Under the new schedule, the exam is set for the 22nd to March 5, March 8 and 9, March 12, March 15 to 19, March 24 and 25, and March 29 to 31, 2027.

The dates of some exams remain unchanged. The Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) exam will be held on December 6, 2026. The SWAYAM exam will run from December 8 to 12, 2026. The Rashtriya Military School exam is on December 13, 2026. The Army Cadet College exam will be held on January 4, 2027. The Shreshtha NETS and NIFT entrance exams are on January 10, 2027. The All India Sainik School Entrance Exam will be held on January 31, 2027, and CMAT 2027 on February 7, 2027.

The NTA has said the dates were changed for administrative reasons. However, it has not given detailed information on the changes to individual exams. While issuing the notification, the agency asked candidates not to rely on the old calendar for exam-related information and to check the new calendar on its official website instead.
