The National Testing Agency has started a toll-free helpline and a daily help desk for candidates of NEET UG, UGC NET, CUET and JEE Main.
The NTA, which conducts major examinations such as NEET UG, UGC NET, CUET and JEE Main, has started an official helpline service for candidates. The aim is to resolve mistakes made while filling in forms, payment problems, difficulty in downloading admit cards and confusion over examination dates.
To protect candidates from false news spread on social media and from fraud, the agency has issued two main support numbers. Candidates should save both numbers on their phones.
The first is a 24x7 toll-free helpline, 1800-180-4747. It will remain operational round the clock, and candidates can ask any exam-related question on it. The number has been started on a trial basis for now.
The second is a daily help desk, 011-69227700, which will operate every day from 8 am to 10 pm.
Candidates can call the numbers if they face a technical problem while filling in the online form, if the status does not update even after the fee is paid, or if a payment is failing. Help is also available if the admit card cannot be downloaded, if there is an error in the details given, or if there is any confusion over the address of the examination centre, the date of the exam or the shift timings.
The NTA has also issued a stern warning about cyber fraudsters. During exam days, attempts are made to trap candidates in the name of raising their marks, getting papers leaked or correcting application forms. To prevent this, the agency has appealed to candidates not to share their password or one-time password (OTP) with any stranger.
The NTA has made it clear that none of its officials or representatives ever asks for a password, bank details or an OTP over a phone call. For any update, candidates should trust only the agency's official website, nta.ac.in, or the specific portal of the examination.
