The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to begin the online registration process for JEE Main 2027, one of the country's biggest and best-known engineering entrance examinations. Going by past trends, the application forms are expected to be released on the official website in the last week of October or early November. Students who wish to seek admission to the IITs, NITs and other top engineering colleges should keep all the required documents ready in time, so that no mistakes are made while filling in the form.
The NTA has already made clear in its initial calendar that the first session of JEE Main 2027 will be held between January 22 and January 30, 2027. The examination will be conducted entirely in computer-based test (CBT) mode. Once the registration link opens, students will get about 28 to 30 days to fill in the form and pay the fee.
Several documents will be needed for the form. The Class 10 marksheet comes first: the candidate's name, parents' names and date of birth must be entered exactly as they appear on it. Students who are appearing in the Class 12 examination this year or have already passed should keep their board roll number and school address ready.
The passport-size photograph must be recent, in colour or black and white, with the face at least 80 per cent clearly visible and a white background. The photo file must be between 10 KB and 200 KB. A scanned signature is also required: a signature made in black ink on plain white paper should be scanned and kept ready, with a file size between 4 KB and 30 KB.
Other valid IDs can also be used for identification. The name and date of birth on the ID must be correct. Students from the EWS, OBC-NCL, SC or ST categories should keep their certificate number and date of issue ready. A student applying under the category of persons with physical disabilities must upload a valid UDID card or certificate in PDF format.
JEE Main applications will be accepted online only, and no hard copy needs to be sent to the NTA. A working mobile number and email ID must be given in the form, as all OTPs and important updates related to the examination will be sent to them. The application fee can be paid online through net banking, credit card, debit card or UPI.
