Hero MotoCorp is preparing to bring a new version of its popular street naked bike to the Indian market. The 2026 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V will be launched on October 16, 2026. The new model is expected to show changes in design and features, but the petrol engine is expected to remain the same.
The model currently on sale has an ex-showroom price of between Rs 1.35 lakh and Rs 1.38 lakh. If the updated model gets new features, the price could be higher. The final price will be clear only at the time of launch.
On design, the 2026 Xtreme 160R 4V is likely to get new body graphics, updated headlamp and tail lamp, an improved seat and a new fuel tank design. A tyre hugger at the rear is also being talked about. Changes to the riding position may also be made so that the rider gets more comfort while riding. However, the company has not yet officially confirmed any of these changes.
The biggest expectation among the features is the display. The current model has an LCD instrument screen and turn-by-turn navigation. The new model could get a multicolour TFT display and Google Maps mirroring. This would let the rider see navigation and bike information more clearly. Features such as a lap timer, document storage and auto brightness may also be considered. Cruise control, riding modes and dual-channel ABS are expected to stay. It is not yet clear whether a quickshifter will be offered.
On the engine, the 163.2cc single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled petrol engine is likely to continue. It produces 16.7 bhp of power at 8,500 rpm and 14.6 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. It comes with a 5-speed gearbox and a wet multiplate clutch. A big change in power and torque is unlikely.
In the market, the bike will compete with the Bajaj Pulsar N160 4V and the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. Its position in the market will depend on the new display, its design and the price. Riders are now watching whether the bike arrives with more features.
