Hero Splendor tops September motorcycle sales; Bajaj Pulsar and Platina see steep falls
Sales of India's top 10 motorcycles rose 2.9% year on year to 11,34,856 units in September 2026, with Splendor first and Shine second.
Hero Splendor once again led India's two-wheeler market in September 2026. Combined sales of the country's top 10 best-selling motorcycles reached 11,34,856 units, against 11,02,572 units in September last year, a year-on-year rise of 2.9%.
Splendor was first on the list and the Honda Shine retained second place. Sales of the Bajaj Pulsar and Platina fell.
Hero sold 4,31,279 units of the Splendor, compared with 3,83,383 in the same month last year, a year-on-year increase of 12.5%. Splendor accounted for more than a third of the top 10's total sales. Demand for the bike appears to be sustained by its affordability, its use in daily commuting and its popularity.
The Honda Shine, in second place, sold 1,89,941 units, a rise of 2.6%. The Bajaj Pulsar was third with 1,36,313 units, but its sales dropped 12.5% year on year. The Pulsar range includes models with engines from 125cc to 350cc.
The Hero HF Deluxe was fourth with 1,14,064 units, a fall of 3.8%. The TVS Apache sold 61,148 units, up 14.7%. Sales of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 stood at 47,286 units, 16.9% more than a year earlier.
The Honda CB Unicorn 150 sold 46,468 units, a rise of 43.6%, and moved up to seventh place. Bajaj Platina sales fell 39% to 37,952 units. The TVS Raider slipped to 36,183 units, while the Hero Glamour 125 sold 34,222 units.
In the September figures, annual sales of the Splendor, Apache, Classic 350, Unicorn and Glamour rose, while the Pulsar, HF Deluxe, Platina and Raider declined. This shows that demand was not uniform even among popular models. In the coming months, festival offers, new models and customer preferences could affect two-wheeler sales.
Hero Splendor was the best-selling motorcycle. The highest annual growth in the top 10 was recorded by the Honda CB Unicorn 150, at 43.6%. Bajaj Pulsar sales fell 12.5% and Platina sales fell 39%.
