Two-wheeler sales rise in August 2026, Splendor tops chart, Chetak surges 272.83%
Top 10 two-wheeler sales in India rose 8.41 percent in August 2026, with Hero Splendor leading and Bajaj Chetak posting the sharpest growth.
India's top 10 two-wheelers together sold 13,28,231 units in August 2026, up 8.41 percent from 12,25,232 units in August 2025.
Hero Splendor topped the list again with 3,53,842 units sold, accounting for 26.64 percent of total sales. That is 42,144 units more than the 3,11,698 units sold in August 2025.
Honda Activa was second with 2,55,815 units sold, up 4.73 percent. Together, Splendor and Activa accounted for 45.90 percent of total sales among the top 10.
Honda Shine was third with 1,80,626 units sold, up 10.16 percent. TVS Jupiter was fourth with 1,47,450 units sold, up 3.54 percent. The top four models together sold 9,37,733 units, or 70.60 percent of the top 10 total.
Bajaj Pulsar was fifth with 97,839 units sold, down 10.55 percent. Hero HF Deluxe sales fell 22.25 percent to 69,794 units. Suzuki Access took seventh place with 69,558 units sold, up 14.39 percent.
TVS Apache was eighth with 55,123 units sold, up 22.39 percent. The steepest rise was for the Bajaj Chetak, which sold 52,248 units in August 2026 against 14,014 units in August 2025, a jump of 272.83 percent, keeping it among the country's best-selling electric scooters.
TVS XL100 rounded off the top 10 with 45,936 units sold, up from 43,886 units a year earlier. Barring Bajaj Pulsar, sales rose across the top five models. Splendor outsold Activa by 98,027 units, pointing to strong demand for both commuter bikes and scooters in August.
