Navratri, which symbolises the victory of good over evil and the power of Goddess Durga, was celebrated this year with a message of hope, dignity and inclusive development. Union Commerce and Industry Minister and North Mumbai MP Piyush Goyal marked the festival with residents of Mumbai's slum settlements and local youth.
Sharing the festive joy with locals, Goyal said once again that he is committed to getting families living in slums permanent homes and a better life. He said the benefits of development must reach every home. He directed the concerned team to organise the people of the area as soon as possible and to work towards getting them permanent homes at the same location. Goyal also assured residents of all necessary help.
Addressing devotees in Kandivali East, the North Mumbai MP said, "Every family living here should get the chance to live in a permanent home with dignity and security. I want the people of the entire area to organise as soon as possible, and together we must make sure they get permanent homes at this very place."
Goyal also asked party workers to bring all the people of the area together at the earliest and to strive to provide them with permanent homes. He said, "Do not hesitate at all to ask me for help. It is our resolve to give every needy family a secure home. We will work with complete determination to make this dream come true."
Goyal also praised the confidence and enthusiasm of the country's youth. He described young people as the driving force behind the country's transformation. Drawing inspiration from Navratri, he said, "This is the real future of India, celebrating the festival of Mata Rani with full enthusiasm. I am confident that this youth power standing firmly behind me will take India to new heights in the true sense. We must stay completely away from people with negative thinking and not come under their influence. We are taking our country towards a bright future, and all of us must work together to take the country to great heights."
Goyal further said that the journey to a Viksit Bharat needs national-level ambition as well as a firm commitment to improving the living standards of people at the grassroots. According to him, giving families permanent homes, strengthening local communities and empowering youth are key parts of building a prosperous, inclusive India that is confident about its future.
The Union Minister's interaction with the residents also brought out the wider message of Navratri: to draw inspiration for good work from faith, build collective strength and resolve to overcome challenges. Just as the festival celebrates the victory of truth and the strength of goodness, the vision of a Viksit Bharat is of a country where every family can hope for a better life, every young person can contribute to national progress and every community can be part of India's development journey.
