Glass skin needs gentle cleansing, moisturiser, sunscreen and sleep, not just products
Cleansing, moisturising, daily sunscreen, a balanced diet and full sleep are the basics for glass skin, not costly products alone.

Many women keep trying one thing after another to get a glow on the face. Expensive skincare products, creams and assorted treatments are part of that effort. Skin treatments and the use of harsh chemicals can leave the face extremely dry.
The term "glass skin" is heard often on social media and elsewhere. It refers to flawless, clear and radiant skin that looks like glass. The Korean skincare routine has become popular across the world, including in India, and many women follow it to get glass skin. Often, products are applied to the face without understanding blemishes, pores or the natural texture of the skin.
Because pictures of radiant skin and skincare routine trends go viral on a large scale, people buy products without knowing the quality of their skin. The advice is to avoid wrong skincare. Skin that is healthy and properly moisturised reflects light, and for that, changes in diet matter as much as skincare. The emphasis should be on improving the skin's natural glow and texture rather than on makeup.
The first step towards glass skin is keeping the skin clean. A mild face cleanser suited to the skin type should be used, and instead of a very expensive cleanser, one should pick whatever suits the skin. The face should not be rubbed often or hard, because that reduces its natural oil and moisture. If the skin is very dry and sensitive, a patch test should be done so that the skin is not harmed.
A hydrating moisturiser applied regularly keeps moisture in the skin. Even oily skin needs a moisturiser, and it should be a suitable, non-comedogenic one.
Sunscreen is described as essential. A good-quality sunscreen should be applied so that sun damage from ultraviolet rays, tanning and early signs of ageing do not increase. A broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher should be applied before going out, which reduces tanning.
Exfoliation is described as necessary for brighter-looking skin. A mild chemical exfoliant suited to the skin type should be used to remove dead skin cells.
Skincare alone is not enough for glass skin. Drinking water, eating a balanced diet, including fruits, vegetables, protein and essential nutrients in meals, and getting full sleep are also important. This is general information only, and a doctor should be consulted before trying any remedy.
