A large free health camp with registration for cataract operations is being organised at the Zilla Parishad upper primary school in Bhangaram Talodhi, Gondpipri. The organisers say the camp has been planned so that villagers get good healthcare and no one's treatment is held up for want of money.
The camp is being held by the Ahilyadevi Sharda Mahila Mandal (Kurmar Samaj), with the cooperation of Bhangaram Talodhi. It will begin at 10 am on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
According to the organisers, the camp will screen for various ailments, patients will get advice from specialist doctors and medicines will be distributed free. Registration for cataract operations will also be done where needed.
Eye doctors will examine eyes, detect cataracts and enrol names for surgery. Tests for diabetes and related problems will be held. Preliminary checks and advice will be given for heart disease, and guidance will be available for detecting kidney-related ailments. Various health problems of women will be examined. For bone and skin diseases and the other ailments listed, check-ups and treatment advice will be given. Patients will be told about further treatment according to the medical facilities available at the camp.
The organisers said many elderly people in the village suffer poor vision because of cataracts, and many delay treatment because of lack of money or access to healthcare. With this in view, a special facility for cataract surgery registration has been kept at the camp. The initiative is being held in cooperation with Shalinitai Meghe Hospital, Nagpur. After the necessary examination, eligible patients will be told about further treatment and surgery.
Registration for the camp has to be done between October 10 and 16, 2026. The organisers have appealed to people in the surrounding areas to register in time and benefit from the camp.
The organisers said villagers often have to travel to distant cities for check-ups. Travel costs, treatment costs and loss of time lead many to ignore their health. Free check-ups and treatment advice in the village itself will therefore be useful. The organisers have appealed especially to the elderly, women and needy patients to use the opportunity and get themselves examined.
The camp, held on the initiative of the Ahilyadevi Sharda Mahila Mandal, is meant to convey a message of social responsibility and public service. The organisers have appealed to people of Bhangaram Talodhi and the surrounding areas to turn up in large numbers.
