The Gondpipri taluka unit of the Bharatiya Buddhist Mahasabha has organised a Buddhist Mahasabha in Gondpipri on Sunday, October 11, 2026. The event will be held at the hall of Laxmanrao Kundojwar Junior College on Main Road, Gondpipri, from 3 pm to 7 pm.

The main attraction of the gathering will be the guidance of Dr Rajratna Ashokrao Ambedkar. The organisers have appealed to upasaks, upasikas and Dhamma brothers of Gondpipri taluka and nearby areas to attend in large numbers.

According to the organisers, the event has two aims. One is to fulfil the ten objectives given by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar through the Bharatiya Buddhist Mahasabha. The other is to strengthen the Buddhist community socially and economically in India. The idea of setting up a Buddhist bank run by Buddhists, to make the community economically capable, will also be discussed at the meeting.

The organisers said that, on the initiative of Dr Rajratna Ambedkar, the Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar Multistate Credit Co-operative Society (bank) has been started in Mumbai, Thane and Nagpur. Efforts are now on to let people in all talukas of Chandrapur district become shareholders of the society. In this light, the event will send the message that the Buddhist community should move together towards economic progress.

The programme will be presided over by Anand Wankar, president of the Chandrapur district unit. Uddhav Narnaware, president of the Gondpipri taluka unit, will introduce the programme.

The chief guests will include Rahul Shende, national general secretary of the Bharatiya Buddhist Mahasabha; Budhaji Walvinde, Maharashtra state president; Ravindra Gurchal, state joint convener of AMSC; Vijay Bansod, Nagpur divisional president; and Akash Chaure, Nagpur divisional secretary.

Others expected to be present include Rupchand Phulzele, legal metrology officer, Gadchiroli; social worker Suvarnamala Bhagat; Praful Devgade, entrepreneur from Ghugghus; Pradip Khobragade, entrepreneur from Karanji; legal adviser Adv Rakesh Kamble; Rupesh Nimsarkar, former district spokesperson, Chandrapur; and Amavasya Nimsarkar, convener of the Buddha Vihar S.S.T.A., Gondpipri.

The Gondpipri taluka unit and the Gondpipri city unit of the Bharatiya Buddhist Mahasabha have appealed to the taluka's various Buddhist mandals, Buddhist women's mandals, Buddhist women's savings groups, men's savings groups, Buddha Vihar coordinators and Buddhist youth organisations to attend and support the initiative. All Bahujan brothers have also been invited.

"Economic empowerment along with social organisation" is the main message of the event. The Buddhist community of the taluka is watching the gathering closely as an effort to put Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar's ideas into practice.
