The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced a protest on October 10, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. CJP leaders and volunteers have also said they will come to Delhi. Before that date, however, the party's leaders could face trouble.

Violence broke out during the Parliament march led by the CJP on July 20, 2026, and Delhi Police have now begun investigating it. The Delhi Police Crime Branch is looking into the violence at the protest held in New Delhi on July 20. A case has been registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

During the investigation, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke may be questioned. Senior party leaders Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka are also likely to be questioned. This is only a possibility at present; there is no indication that police have summoned anyone.

According to available information, the investigation will examine who was responsible for the violence and what role each person played. It will also look at whether the violence was a pre-planned conspiracy or whether people with criminal tendencies had entered the protest site.

Sources said the probe will also cover the alleged assault on police personnel, vandalism and damage to public property, including police vehicles. Following directions from the Supreme Court, Delhi Police have already withdrawn 17 FIRs linked to the July violence.

The CJP has called for a protest against Gyanesh Kumar. Before the Delhi protest, the party had also demonstrated at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, Maharashtra, demanding his resignation.

The CJP leadership recently sought police permission for the Delhi protest. Police replied that permission for a protest at Jantar Mantar must be sought at least 10 days in advance. Meanwhile, the CJP, including Saurabh, Abhijeet and Ashutosh, has finalised its strategy for the Delhi protest.

Earlier, Abhijeet Dipke had claimed that notices were being sent to CJP volunteers in view of the October 10 protest.
