CJP leader Ashutosh Ranka claims three party leaders may be arrested before the 10th
Cockroach Janta Party spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka says he, Abhijeet Dipke and Saurav Das could be held under the NSA; Dipke says the party will stay peaceful.
Ashutosh Ranka, national spokesperson of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has claimed that he, Abhijeet Dipke and Saurav Das could be arrested at any time. According to Ranka, planning for this is under way. He made the claim in a post on his X account.
Ranka wrote that several people had told him that he, Dipke and Das could be arrested before the 10th under the NSA or similar laws. He said the three have been ready to go to jail since June 6 and have no fear of it.
Ranka further wrote that those who should be afraid are the ones bent on ruining the country, and that they are afraid. He cited Gandhi, saying "violence and hatred are born only of fear". In his view the government is afraid and is therefore taking the path of violence. This is Ranka's allegation.
He also wrote that he is a 30-year-old fighting for a better and more accountable India, and has nothing to lose. In his words, "You can arrest us, beat us, even kill us, but you cannot stop us." He also said that if he were killed, the fire from his pyre would melt palaces. Ranka added that he was getting word from several people that there are plans to arrest Ratna Singh and other party leaders as well.
A few days ago, CJP spokesperson Saurav Das made a similar claim. He had said the Union government was planning to arrest him, Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka, Ratna Singh and the other leaders of the party. In an Instagram post, Das wrote that if the government believes such authoritarian methods will work, it is mistaken. According to him, the country's young generation has now awakened. He appealed to everyone to keep fighting for their rights and a better future, whether they live or die. Das also said he is always ready to go to jail or face worse, but that it would be a big mistake by the government, because the country's youth will not tolerate it.
Dipke also responded after Ranka's claim. He said that if the government thinks threats of the UAPA, the NSA or jail will silence them, that will not happen. According to him, they are ready to face any situation and to spend months or years in jail if needed, but will not step back from the fight to save democracy. Dipke said he follows the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi and will keep up the agitation in a peaceful and non-violent manner.
Meanwhile, the CJP has said its agitation proposed in Delhi on October 10 will remain peaceful. The party has appealed to every citizen who supports free and fair elections to join. Dipke said that if Gyanesh Kumar does not resign, citizens and members of the organisation from across the country will gather in New Delhi and hold a large protest at Jantar Mantar.
The CJP is the talk of the country these days. After Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation over the NEET paper leak case, the party has now taken an aggressive stand demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
