Bajaj Auto is testing the off-road motorcycle on Indian roads; it may use the Pulsar N250's 249cc engine and cost Rs 1.70 lakh to Rs 2 lakh.

Bajaj Auto is working on a new adventure motorcycle, which is currently being tested on Indian roads. Photos that surfaced during testing show modifications suited to off-road riding. The bike may be called the Bajaj Trekker, according to talk in the industry. It is likely to reach India in early 2027.

In design, the bike has wire-spoke wheels, a high front mudguard, long-travel telescopic front forks and a monoshock suspension at the rear. The test model is likely to get a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel. Disc brakes on both wheels and dual-purpose tyres may be offered. An upright seating position and higher ground clearance could make riding on rough and unpaved roads easier.

On the engine, the bike is likely to get the 249cc air- and oil-cooled single-cylinder unit used in the Pulsar N250. The engine tuning and gearing may be changed for better response at low speeds, which adventure riding needs. A 6-speed gearbox is also likely. This could make the bike useful for long-distance rides as well as city commuting.

On features, the test model has been seen with a rectangular 5-inch TFT instrument screen. The production model may get smartphone connectivity and Google Maps mirroring. If a ride-by-wire system is provided, multiple riding modes are likely. Features such as switchable ABS and traction control may also be offered. The company has not yet confirmed any of these features.

For long journeys, the bike has a long single-piece seat, a high handlebar, a luggage carrier at the rear and large grab rails. It was seen with a top box during testing, so accessories for carrying luggage may be offered. A raised exhaust and protection hardware make its adventure look more pronounced. The bike could compete with motorcycles such as the Hero Xpulse 210.

The bike seen in testing appears to have made considerable progress. Because Bajaj is working on trail bikes of this kind for Brazil, the motorcycle is expected to be launched there before India. The likely ex-showroom price could be Rs 1.70 lakh to Rs 2 lakh. The company has not yet announced the name, price or launch date. The announcement from Bajaj is now awaited.
