Bajaj Auto will bring two new motorcycle product lines in the 125cc to 250cc segment in FY2027, for India and international markets, its joint managing director said.

Bajaj Auto is moving to strengthen its hold on the two-wheeler market. The company will bring two new motorcycle product lines in the 125cc to 250cc segment in FY2027. Rakesh Sharma, joint managing director of Bajaj Auto, shared this after the company's Q2 FY2027 results.

Both new brands will be sold in India as well as in international markets. According to the company, the brands will complement its popular Pulsar range.

Sharma said the company would use the new brands to try to draw customers from different sub-segments of the 125cc to 250cc segment. The two brands will not cover the entire engine segment. They will offer different products for different needs. Earlier, in July, during the discussion on Q1 FY2027, the company had hinted at bringing two new brands for the 125cc segment. The company is also considering moving customers who ride 100cc bikes to the next segment.

Last year, Bajaj's market share fell in the segment of motorcycles above 125cc and 150cc. Some of the company's older models were nearing the end of their product life cycle, which affected sales. Bajaj has therefore focused on the Pulsar NS and N series. The company said the new updated models of both series are getting a good response in the market. On the other hand, sales of the older classic Pulsar and of the 100cc segment have weighed on the company's overall market share.

In recent weeks Bajaj has introduced new, updated models such as the Pulsar 125, Pulsar 150, Pulsar N160 S, N160 SS, NS400Z, N250SS and NS200. According to the company, the share of these new models in its portfolio above 125cc rose to 7 per cent in August, 26 per cent in September and 33 per cent in the first 16 days of the festive season.

Meanwhile, in the second quarter of FY2027, Bajaj's vehicle exports rose 41 per cent from a year earlier to about 7.8 lakh units. Exports to Africa grew 83 per cent and exports to Latin America 44 per cent. The company plans to expand worldwide through new segments, new countries and its partnership with KTM.
