Bajaj Auto has updated its flagship naked streetfighter with a 5-inch TFT console and connected features, raising the price by about Rs 4,000.
Bajaj Auto has given its flagship naked streetfighter, the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z, a major update. The motorcycle now has a new 5-inch TFT instrument console, along with several smart and connected features.
After the update, the ex-showroom Delhi price of the NS400Z is Rs 1.90 lakh. The new TFT display has raised the price by about Rs 4,000 over the older version.
The new TFT display is the biggest change in the NS400Z. It offers Google Maps mirroring, so the rider can see navigation information directly on the display. Features such as Music Control, Document Storage and Lap Timer are also provided. The controls for the bike's four Ride Modes and Traction Control can also be accessed from this display.
For safety, Bajaj has added a Panic Brake Alert. Dual-Channel ABS and Traction Control continue as before. A USB Type-C charging port has also been provided. The bike retains its Bi-Directional Quickshifter, which allows gears to be shifted up and down without using the clutch.
The engine is unchanged. The NS400Z has a 349cc, four-valve, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine. It produces 40PS of power at 9,000rpm and 33Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox and an electronic throttle body. The Ride Modes and Traction Control work through this system.
Suspension is handled by 43mm USD front forks, and the bike has disc brakes at the front and rear. The interface update comes in the 25th year of the Pulsar brand.
Other Pulsar models, including the NS125, NS200 and N250, will also get the new TFT display. Some models have begun reaching dealerships. Bajaj is also developing a new dual-sport motorcycle, which is likely to arrive by the end of this calendar year.
