Bajaj adds 5-inch TFT console to Pulsar NS400Z, priced at Rs 1.90 lakh ex-showroom Delhi
Bajaj Auto has updated its flagship naked streetfighter with a new 5-inch TFT console and connected features, raising the price by about Rs 4,000.
Bajaj Auto has given its flagship naked streetfighter, the Pulsar NS400Z, a major update. The company has added a new 5-inch TFT instrument console to the bike, along with several smart and connected features. After the update, the ex-showroom Delhi price of the Pulsar NS400Z is Rs 1.90 lakh, about Rs 4,000 more than the older model.
The 5-inch TFT display is the biggest change in the new model. The console gives the bike a more modern look and a smarter riding experience.
The display offers Google Maps mirroring, so the navigation information a rider needs appears directly on the bike's screen. It also provides features such as Music Control, Document Storage and a Lap Timer.
Information on the bike's four Ride Modes and Traction Control can also be viewed on the display, giving the rider easy access to the different settings and riding modes.
On safety, Bajaj has added a Panic Brake Alert to the Pulsar NS400Z. On sudden braking, it can help alert vehicles behind. Safety features such as Dual Channel ABS and Traction Control remain as before. A USB Type C charging port is provided for charging smartphones and other devices.
The Bi Directional Quickshifter on the Pulsar NS400Z continues in the updated bike. It allows gears to be changed up and down without using the clutch, making gear shifts faster and easier during sporty riding.
The engine has not been changed despite the new features. The bike has a 349cc, 4-valve, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine that produces 40PS of power at 9,000rpm and 33Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and an electronic throttle body. The Ride Modes and Traction Control work through this electronic system.
For suspension, the Pulsar NS400Z has 43mm USD front forks. Disc brakes are fitted at both front and rear, which shows the emphasis on braking and handling along with the powerful engine.
Bajaj Auto is preparing to bring the new TFT console to its other Pulsar models. The Pulsar NS125, NS200 and N250 are likely to get the new TFT display, and some updated models have started reaching dealerships.
Bajaj Auto is also reported to be working on a new dual-sport motorcycle, which is expected to reach the market by the end of the current calendar year. Customers are therefore watching Bajaj's upcoming two-wheelers as well as the Pulsar NS400Z.
