Apple rolls out iOS 27.2 with Siri that remembers old chats and fixes 326 security flaws

Apple has rolled out the new iOS 27.2 update for iPhone users. The update upgrades Siri AI, which the company says will improve the user experience, and changes the design of Apple Music.

With the release, the company has also fixed a total of 326 security flaws across different software products. Of these, more than 160 were related to the iPhone.

Siri gets several upgrades in iOS 27.2. It can now remember details from old chats, so users can re-read questions they asked earlier and the answers. Siri can also now gather details from photos attached to messages, logos in calendar events and voicemails. Results from Safari history and the reading list have also been improved.

To give users more control over AI features, a setting for excluded apps has been added. It lets users decide which apps the AI can use. A "granular text selection" feature also lets users select a specific part of Siri's response and copy it.

Among other apps, the biggest change is visible in the Apple Music icon and user interface. The Messages app will suggest options for quick replies. The shared albums feature in Photos has also been upgraded. The Podcasts app has a new section for new episodes and for continue playing.

The Games app will show recently played games and information related to friends. A dual capture feature has been added for FaceTime in group calls. Some changes have also been made to Apple TV and FaceTime. In addition, support for SynthID watermarking has been added for AI-generated content.
