When it came to marrying her and returning the money, the accused, a relative, backed out. The case of a widow being kept on false promises and sexually exploited for nearly five years has come to light in the Manakpur police station area. Police have registered a case against the accused, Rajesh (40), of Kanewada, Seoni.

Trusting him, the woman came to Nagpur in 2020 and began living in the Manakpur police station area. Whenever Vishwakarma came to Nagpur, he stayed at her house. During this time he promised to marry her and bring up her children. Taking advantage of that trust, he had physical relations with her for about five years.

Refused after taking Rs 3 lakh

Feeling cheated, the victim filed a complaint at Manakpur police station. Police have registered a case against Vishwakarma and begun an investigation.
