Adarsh Ramlila Mandal has begun a Ramlila in the Mansarovar area of Bhiwandi. On the very first day, episodes such as "Narad Moh", "Ravan Atyachar" and "Prithvi Pukar" were staged. Watching the portrayal of Ravana's tyranny, the audience was moved and many had tears in their eyes.
Vyas Pandit Sunil Shukla recited a verse from the Balkand of the Ramcharitmanas from the Ramlila stage, which says that when he leaves the country, the sages are made to suffer torments and cities and villages are soaked in ghee. A hush fell over the pandal as the verse began, and people began to imagine Ravana's atrocities.
The staging showed that wherever sages and saints went to hide, Ravana's demons reached them and harassed them. These wicked demons were wreaking havoc everywhere and had begun looting homes in cities and villages. Pleased with the severe penance, Brahma asked the three brothers to seek a boon. Ravana asked for invincibility, Kumbhakarna asked for six months of sleep and six months of wakefulness, and Vibhishana asked for devotion to Lord Ram.
After receiving the boon from Brahma, Ravana became a tyrant. He began to persecute sages and women. His atrocities shook the entire earth. The gods and sages prayed for deliverance from his oppression. Brahma then announced that Lord Vishnu would be born on earth in human form as Lord Ram in Ayodhya, free the earth from Ravana's tyranny and deliver the gods and sages.
The Ramlila is being presented by experienced artistes under the supervision of Anil Tiwari, director of the Janakalyan Ramlila Mandal from Kashi. Pandit Sunil Shukla is playing Vyas. Satyaprakash Singh, president of Adarsh Ramlila Mandal in Mansarovar, said the mandal was founded 53 years ago by Laxminarayan Gupta, and a Ramlila has been held here ever since. Office-bearers Dhannalal Gupta, Laxmi Kejriwal, Mangalesh Sharma, Seema Maheshwari and others are fully supporting the event.
The Ramlila, held under Satyaprakash Singh's leadership, was inaugurated by Sudamdas, head saint of the ISKCON temple in Mansarovar, who cut the ribbon. Local corporator Kamalakar Patil broke a coconut. Vinod Bhalerao Patil, senior police inspector at Bhiwandi City police station, was welcomed by Murari Kashyap and Kushakumar Jena of the Ramlila committee. Mahendra Thakur, Dilip Wangari, Kumar Yeldi, Dilip Kesarwani, Vinod Singh Chauhan and other dignitaries were also on the stage.
