Abhishek Sharma stays No. 1 in ICC T20 rankings, captain Shreyas Iyer jumps to seventh

The ICC has released its latest T20 batters' rankings, with Indian cricketers dominating. India's explosive opener Abhishek Sharma has retained his place as the world's No. 1 batter.

The Indian T20 team has been in good form. Left-hander Abhishek Sharma has been playing aggressively, and he scored well in the T20 series against New Zealand, which has earned him this reward.

On the strength of his aggressive batting, Abhishek has kept his top position in the T20 rankings. The young Indian batter has 889 points. Pakistan's Sahibzada Farhan is second in the latest rankings. Ishan Kishan, who topped the T20 rankings a few days ago, has seen his points fall.

The New Zealand series has also proved beneficial for India T20 captain Shreyas Iyer, who has jumped straight to seventh place in the ICC rankings. While Abhishek Sharma has held on to the top spot, Iyer's jump to seventh is seen as highly encouraging for the Indian team.

The T20 series between India and New Zealand is over and the ODI series has begun. India won the first match. The ICC released the latest T20 batters' rankings at the same time. The two teams are now playing ODI matches.

However, Abhishek Sharma will have to deliver in the next T20 series as well to keep his hold on the top spot.
