The second record is for the most runs by an Indian in a year in T20 internationals. It currently belongs to Suryakumar Yadav, who scored 1,164 runs in 31 matches in 2022. Abhishek, who has scored 1,125 runs in 37 T20 matches in 2026, needs only 40 runs against New Zealand in Auckland to break it. The moment he reaches 40, he will break Suryakumar's record. Fans will be watching Abhishek's pursuit of this record today.

Abhishek is in excellent form. In the third T20 against New Zealand, he played a blistering innings, scoring 113 runs off 38 balls at a strike rate of 297.37, with 9 fours and 11 sixes. In the same match, Vaibhav Suryavanshi also played a quickfire knock of 45 runs off 19 balls. Abhishek will try to maintain that form in today's match as well.

This fourth T20 between India and New Zealand in Auckland will be very special for Abhishek Sharma. It will be interesting to see whether he can break the major records of Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav.
