Abhishek Sharma has reclaimed the top spot in the ICC T20I batting rankings after a 38-ball 113 against New Zealand in Wellington, while Ishan Kishan drops two places.
India's Abhishek Sharma has returned to the top of the ICC T20 International batting rankings in the latest update, taking the spot back from Ishan Kishan. His batting in the T20I series against New Zealand drew widespread attention, and the rankings reflect it.
The third match of the series was played in Wellington. Abhishek completed his century in just 35 balls, and his innings ended on 113 off 38 balls. India won the match by six wickets and also took the series.
This is not the first time Abhishek has held the No. 1 spot. In July 2025, he overtook Australia's Travis Head to reach the top position for the first time. Ishan Kishan went past him this July after a strong showing against Ireland. With his century against New Zealand, Abhishek has now turned the contest around again, and the race for the top spot among Indian batters has once more gone in his favour.
Kishan has dropped two places to third. He had missed two T20 matches because of injury. Pakistan's Sahibzada Farhan has moved up one place to second.
Four Indians feature in the ICC T20I batters' top 10. Captain Shreyas Iyer, however, has lost ground, slipping five places to ninth. Tilak Varma remains in tenth place.
Three England batters are also in the top 10: captain Harry Brook is fourth, Jos Buttler fifth and Phil Salt seventh.
