PMPML starts 11 feeder bus routes and 22 stops for Pune Metro Line 3

Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has started 11 new feeder bus routes to make it easier for passengers to reach Pune Metro stations. One existing route has also been extended. The routes are mainly along Metro Line 3, which connects Maan, Hinjewadi and Shivajinagar. Metro Line 3 was inaugurated on Tuesday, and the bus services began on Wednesday, November 4.

The feeder buses are meant to ease the difficulty passengers face in covering the last stretch between home, IT parks and Metro stations. PMPML has also announced 22 new bus stops to make it easier to reach the stations. The new services will make a total of 620 trips with 25 scheduled buses.

Metro Shuttle No. 31 will run between Pimpri Metro Station and Wakad Chowk Metro Station. Metro Shuttle No. 41 will connect Maan MIDC Circle Phase 2 Metro Station with the Nilsoft company and Infosys Phase 3.

Other routes will link residential and commercial areas with Metro stations. These include Mahalunge village to TCS Maan Metro Station; TCS Maan Metro Station to Podar International School, Bhoirwadi and Indira University; Tathawade to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk Metro Station; and Koyate Vasti, Punawale to Padmabhushan Chowk Metro Station. There are also services connecting Lavale Phata, Blue Ridge Society, Girme Park, Embassy TechZone parking and Joyville Society with different Metro stations.

Metro Shuttle No. 50, which already ran between Mitcon Metro Station in Balewadi and Chandegaon, has been extended.

The 22 new stops are next to stations on Metro Line 3. They include TCS/Maan, Maan MIDC Circle Phase 2, Maan Bus Depot, Hinjewadi Phase 1 and Phase 2 Circle, Wipro Circle, Padmabhushan Chowk, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk and Wakad Chowk.

The list also includes Sports Complex Mahalunge, Mitcon Balewadi, R. K. Laxman Sai Chowk, Balewadi High Street, Balewadi Phata, Baner village, Mahabaleshwar Hotel, Baner Phata-Aundh, Sakalnagar, Savitribai Phule Pune University, RBI Bank, Agriculture College and Shivajinagar Metro Station.

PMPML had earlier started feeder services in phases for Metro stations in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. With Metro Line 3 now open, the network has been expanded so that as many passengers as possible can easily reach the Metro. PMPML has appealed to passengers to use the new feeder services.
