The Anti-Corruption Bureau's Navi Mumbai unit held a large awareness campaign on Friday at government offices, police stations and public service centres.
The Navi Mumbai unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday carried out a large-scale awareness campaign to curb bribery and increase transparency in government work. The drive covered key government offices, police stations and centres that serve the public.
The campaign is part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2026, which is being observed under the theme of integrity and opposition to corruption.
Special teams were formed for the drive, led by Police Inspector Neeta Bhosale and Police Inspector Dattaraj Tandale. The teams visited key transport and administrative areas in Navi Mumbai, Panvel and Taloja.
Inspector Bhosale's team chose places with heavy footfall. These included the Regional Transport Office (RTO) Panvel-Kharghar, Taloja Central Prison, the office of the MSEDCL Assistant Engineer, MIDC Taloja, the water supply department of MIDC and Taloja police station.
At the same time, Inspector Tandale's squad went to public places in Vashi, Koparkhairane and Turbhe. It spoke to people at the sub-registrar offices in Turbhe and Koparkhairane, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) 'C' ward office in Vashi, the APMC market premises, the office of the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Vashi division, and local police stations.
Officers held interaction sessions with government officials and employees on duty and with citizens who had come to the offices. They were told about the rules against bribery. Banners and posters were put up at prominent spots so that more people would see them. Leaflets explaining how to file a complaint were also distributed.
Dharmaraj Sonke, Deputy Superintendent of Police (ACB, Navi Mumbai), appealed to citizens not to yield to illegal transactions. He said that if any government employee demands a bribe, it should be reported immediately.
Complaints can be made on the toll-free helpline 1064. Other contacts are telephone number 022-27833344 and WhatsApp numbers 7066635666 and 9920351064. Complaints can also be filed online at acbmaharashtra.net.
