Kapurbawdi police have registered an extortion case on a businessman's complaint that he was honey-trapped and blackmailed; his lawyers call her Versova cases pressure tactics.

A case of extortion involving Rs 1 crore 39 lakh has been registered against a Mumbai model at Kapurbawdi police station in Thane. The case follows a complaint by a businessman, who alleges that the model trapped him in a honey trap and extracted crores of rupees from him.

According to the complaint, the model first drew the businessman into a relationship. She then began blackmailing him using private photographs and videos. It is also alleged that a large sum was extorted from him by threatening to defame him and implicate him in false cases.

According to the claims in the complaint and the FIR lodged with Kapurbawdi police, the businessman was made to pay for several expensive items. These are said to include a luxury flat in Mumbai, office space and a property in Bengaluru. A luxury MG Hector car is also mentioned. He is further alleged to have been made to bear the entire cost of foreign trips to places such as Bangkok, Vietnam, Georgia and Baku.

The case has now taken a new turn. The model had earlier filed cases against the businessman at Versova police station in Mumbai, including stalking, assault and physical abuse. The businessman's lawyers claim that all these cases were filed only to pressure their client and to obtain the extorted money.

The high-profile case has caused a stir on social media and in the entertainment world. Kapurbawdi police have begun an investigation and are examining the financial transactions, bank accounts and digital evidence in the case. A detailed investigation is continuing.

For now, all of this is based on claims made in the complaint and the FIR. The allegations against the model remain allegations and are under investigation. The businessman's lawyers have a different position on the cases registered in Versova, and police are proceeding after looking at both sets of cases.
