The Navi Mumbai unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday launched an anti-corruption awareness campaign under Vigilance Awareness Week 2026. Citizens were asked to report cases of corruption involving government officers and employees if they come across them.
The campaign began at the ACB office. In line with the Central Vigilance Commission's guidelines, officers of the Navi Mumbai unit, including Police Inspector Neeta Bhosale and Police Inspector Dattatray Tandale, and the rest of the staff took an anti-corruption oath at the office.
As part of the campaign, a workshop was held at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) in Kharghar. Thane Range Superintendent of Police Shivraj Patil was present during the workshop.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Dharmaraj Sonkhe and other officers briefed the officials and employees there on the Prevention of Corruption Act. They also explained why it is important to spread awareness about corrupt practices.
To reach the public, the ACB has also put up hoardings at several prominent locations across Navi Mumbai.
The campaign also had a public outreach element. Well-known singer Shankar Mahadevan, who was in Navi Mumbai at the time, released a video message appealing to people to stand up against corruption.
The ACB has appealed to citizens to report without delay any case of corruption involving a government officer or employee. Complaints can be lodged with the Navi Mumbai ACB in three ways: the toll-free helpline number is 1064, the landline number is 022-27833344, and the WhatsApp number is 7066635666.
The campaign aims to increase public participation in the fight against corruption. It also seeks to make citizens aware of the avenues through which they can report alleged wrongdoing.
