Juhu firing: Tiger Shroff attack accused stayed in Andheri hotel room 201 on fake IDs for five days

Two accused in the firing on actor Tiger Shroff in Juhu lived in an Andheri hotel under false identities, and police suspect the weapon was tested there.

The probe into the firing on Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai's Juhu area has turned up startling details about a hotel room. Room number 201 of a hotel in Andheri had become the attackers' secret hideout. The accused stayed in the room for five days on fake identities. Police suspect a weapon was also tested in this room before the attack on Tiger Shroff.

According to sources, the accused Phool Singh and Rehan Singh hid their real identities and spent five days in the small room. The Aadhaar cards submitted to get the room carry the names Ankit and Mandeep alias Mohit. Both gave false names at the hotel and booked room 201 claiming to be residents of Hisar in Haryana.

According to Mumbai Crime Branch sources, the two checked in at the hotel on October 14, between about 11 am and 11.30 am. The room rent is said to be Rs 1,500 a day. On the day of the firing, the 18th, they checked out between about 4 pm and 4.30 pm. They then went to the football ground at Pushpa Park in Juhu and fired at Tiger Shroff there.

The two accused are said to have left the hotel by auto-rickshaw every day to carry out reconnaissance. The hotel management had no knowledge of their suspicious activities. The manager learnt of the whole matter only when police reached the hotel on the 19th.

According to sources linked to the investigation, police suspect the weapon used in the firing may have been tested in the hotel room. There is also a suspicion that the weapon misfired during the attempt to use it. However, hotel staff have not said that they heard a gunshot from the room. Police have sealed the room.

Another accused, Ankit, has been arrested from Haryana. He was involved in the conspiracy to attack Tiger Shroff and had stayed in Mumbai for twenty days.

Police are now investigating by connecting the links related to the accused's stay, the supply of the weapon and the reconnaissance. The investigating agencies are treating the room as the suspects' hideout. A forensic team also visited the hotel room and took away all the forensic evidence. The evidence recovered from room 201 may prove crucial to the probe.
