Bullet removed by surgery from Umesh Chauhan hurt in Tiger Shroff firing; condition stable
Umesh Chauhan, injured in the firing case involving actor Tiger Shroff, had a bullet removed at Mumbai's KEM Hospital and is stable under observation.
Umesh Chauhan, who was hit by a bullet in the Tiger Shroff firing case, is being treated at KEM Hospital in Mumbai. According to a medical update issued by the hospital administration on October 21, 2026, the bullet was removed from his body in an operation at 8 am on Wednesday. He is currently under the care of doctors in the hospital.
The operation was performed in the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (CVTS) operation theatre at 8 am. The bullet was taken out under general anaesthesia. Dr Uday Eknath Jadhav, head of the CVTS department, and Dr Ram Prajapati, unit head in the surgery department, performed the operation. After it was completed, Chauhan was shifted to the ESR intensive care unit for post-operative care and monitoring.
The hospital said Chauhan tolerated the operation well. All his vital signs are stable at present and doctors are keeping a constant watch on him. The bullet is said to have been lodged in a sensitive part of the body, so the doctors did not want to take any step in haste. The decision to operate was taken only after consulting experts and completing a full medical examination.
The incident took place on Sunday evening in the Juhu area of Mumbai. Tiger Shroff had gone to a football ground at the time. Chauhan was also present there. He wanted to meet the actor and make a video with him. While Chauhan was standing near Shroff's car, a bullet hit him. Three men who came on a bike had fired seven rounds at Shroff. The accused were later arrested from Kota.
Shroff was unhurt in the firing, but his car driver and vlogger Umesh Chauhan were injured. A bullet had remained lodged in Chauhan's body. It was successfully removed in the operation on Wednesday. He is currently under the care of doctors in the hospital.
