A dispute that began over some people being removed from a garba event in Nagpur ended in a knife attack. The incident took place within the limits of Ajni police station on the night of October 19 at Suresh Ground, near Rudra Bar in the Manish Nagar area. Atharva Wadibhasme, a young man, was seriously injured in the attack and is undergoing treatment at the trauma centre of the Medical hospital.

Ajni police have arrested two people in the case and are searching for two other suspects.

According to the information available, a garba event was under way at Suresh Ground on the night of October 19. Some young men are alleged to have arrived at the venue drunk and abused people there. They were removed from the event with the help of a bouncer. The complainant, Krishna Baradia, then had an argument with the young men over this, after which they left.

However, the dispute did not end there. The main accused, Tejas Dhenge, is alleged to have phoned the complainant and called him and his friend Atharva Wadibhasme to the spot. The argument over the removal from the garba event then flared up again. During this, Atharva was attacked with a knife. He was stabbed two to three times in the chest and was seriously injured.

The injured Atharva was first admitted to Taywade Hospital. After primary treatment there, he was shifted to the trauma centre of the Medical hospital, where he is currently being treated.

Ajni police have arrested Tejas Dhenge and Altaf Alam Ansari. The search for two other accomplices is continuing, and police have registered a case of attempted murder and other relevant sections. Ajni police are investigating the case further.
