Youth, 19, stabbed to death in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar's Garkheda; accused Aditya Shelke absconding

A 19-year-old youth was stabbed to death in the Garkheda area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The incident took place in Sainagar at around 11 pm on Wednesday (October 14). The deceased has been identified as Tausif Shamim Sheikh, 19, a resident of Sainagar, Garkheda.
A case has been registered at Pundliknagar police station against Aditya Shelke, who is accused of stabbing Tausif. Police are searching for him.
Tausif lived with his parents and ran the household by doing centering work. According to the complaint filed with the police, Tausif was sitting behind Noor Masjid with his cousin Muzammil Jamil Sheikh at around 10 pm on Wednesday after dinner. Aditya Shelke then arrived there. The complaint states that Aditya's maternal cousin used to talk to Tausif, and Aditya quarrelled with Tausif over this.
To keep the quarrel from escalating, Muzammil asked Tausif to go home. According to the complaint, Aditya threatened Tausif at that moment, saying he would not spare him.
A short while later, Muzammil reached the front of his house. Tausif was then sitting on a motorcycle, looking at his mobile phone. At around 11 pm, Aditya came there again. The complaint alleges that he suddenly struck Tausif on the chest with a knife he was holding. Tausif fell down. Aditya then also stabbed him on the face and head, the complaint says.
Seeing Tausif being attacked, Muzammil and people nearby ran towards him, but Aditya had already fled the spot. Relatives rushed the critically injured Tausif to MGM Hospital on a motorcycle, where doctors declared him dead after examining him. The complaint given to the police states that Tausif had wounds on the chest as well as on the nose and head.
On receiving news of the incident, Police Inspector Rajendra Munde of Pundliknagar police station reached the spot with his team. Police inspected the site and began an investigation. The case has been registered against Aditya Shelke on the complaint of Tausif's cousin Muzammil Jamil Sheikh. The search for the accused, who absconded after the incident, is continuing. Police are investigating the real reason for the attack and other aspects of the case.
