Woman dies after being attacked with sharp weapon in Risod; husband arrested
A woman in Risod town of Washim district died during treatment after her husband allegedly attacked her following a domestic dispute, and police have arrested him.

A shocking incident has come to light in Risod town of Washim district. After a domestic dispute in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar area on Hingoli road, a man attacked his wife with a sharp weapon. The seriously injured woman died during treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Kalpana Yogesh Dhawale, aged about 35. Police have arrested her husband, Yogesh Dhawale, in the case.
According to the information available, Kalpana and Yogesh quarrelled over a minor matter at about 7 am. The quarrel escalated into an argument. Yogesh then allegedly attacked Kalpana with a sharp weapon in anger. Kalpana was seriously injured in the attack.
The injured woman was immediately admitted to the rural hospital in Risod, but she died during treatment. The incident has caused alarm across the area, and residents are expressing sorrow over the crime arising from a domestic dispute.
The accused, Yogesh Dhawale, had absconded after the incident. Police stepped up their investigation, took him into custody and then arrested him. Risod police are carrying out further investigation.
According to police sources, the accused is originally from the Kalefail area of Washim. He had settled in Parbhani a few years ago and worked at a private company. He had moved into a rented house in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar area of Risod town only about fifteen days earlier. The tragic incident took place a few days after that.
Risod police are investigating the case further. The exact reasons behind the incident will become clear only after the investigation.
