The Vietnamese carmaker has lowered the ex-showroom price of its seven-seater electric MPV from Rs 24.49 lakh, six months after its April 2026 launch.

Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast has cut the price of its seven-seater electric MPV, the VinFast VF MPV 7, by Rs 4.10 lakh in India. After the cut, the car is considerably cheaper than before.

The car was launched in April 2026, only six months ago, at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 24.49 lakh. It is now available at Rs 20.39 lakh (ex-showroom). At the new price it looks more attractive and economical against rivals such as the Mahindra XEV 9S and the MG Tomahawk EV.

Despite the lower price, the company has not compromised on the car's power and performance. The VinFast VF MPV 7 has a 60.13 kWh battery pack. The company claims a range of 517 km on a full charge. With a compatible DC fast charger, the battery charges from 10 to 70 per cent in just 30 minutes.

The electric motor produces 204 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque. The vehicle goes from 0 to 100 kmph in under 9 seconds, and its top speed is 140 kmph.

The electric MPV is 4,740 mm long, with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm. The design is minimalist, with large windows. Inside, it has three rows of seating that can comfortably accommodate seven people. A large 10.1-inch infotainment screen sits in the middle. Several new safety features, including ABS, are provided.

VinFast is quickly gaining ground in India's electric vehicle (EV) market. After Tata, Mahindra and MG Motors, it is the fourth-largest seller of electric cars in the country. In October the company sold 2,571 vehicles, a record year-on-year rise of 1,710 per cent. It is expected that, after this big price cut, the seven-seater MPV will find more favour with Indian families.
