Following the recommendation, and with the approval of Municipal Commissioner Dr Vipin, Sheikh was given an appointment order as shikshan sevak (teaching assistant) so that he can take up his duties. On the occasion, Laddha warmly congratulated the new teaching assistant. She also wished him a bright future and a successful tenure in the field of education.
Recruitment stalled for 29 years gains pace
The Pavitra portal process for recruiting teachers for Classes 9 and 10 in the Nagpur Municipal Corporation's education department had been pending since 1997, meaning the matter had been stuck for nearly 29 years. It is now being taken forward on priority through the special efforts and initiative of Education Committee Chairperson Laddha.
Additional Commissioner Muruganantham M. and Education Officer Amit Bhadane are giving special support and guidance in this work. The process is moving quickly with coordination among Deputy Education Officers Subhash Upase and Seema Khobragade and other officials of the education department concerned.
Recruitment for other classes expected to begin in two months
Laddha said efforts are on to complete at the earliest the data for teacher recruitment for Classes 6, 7 and 8, the upper primary level. Work is also under way to complete the data for teacher recruitment in the primary section.
She expressed hope that the data for these classes would be completed within the next two months, after which teacher recruitment could be taken forward through the Pavitra portal. According to her, this would greatly help in overcoming the shortage of teachers in the corporation's schools and children would get good-quality education.
Laddha also said that ensuring the availability of teachers in Nagpur Municipal Corporation schools and giving children a better learning environment is her priority. Efforts to speed up the recruitment process continue, with the cooperation and coordination of all officials of the education department.
