Selection rules have been changed so that managements get only 10 marks for interviews, while the other 90 marks come from test score and qualifications, the Education Commissioner said.

Selection rules for teacher recruitment in the state have been changed to curb the arbitrary conduct of institution managements. Fixed marking criteria have now been laid down for the selection category that involves interviews. Education Commissioner Sachindra Pratap Singh announced this at a press conference.

Under the new criteria, 90 marks in total will go to three components: marks in the Teacher Aptitude and Intelligence Test, the professional qualification for the recommended post, and the academic qualification for the same post. Managements will have only 10 marks for the interview. The Education Commissioner said this would make the recruitment process more transparent.

The general merit list for the regular round of the interview-based selection category under the Teacher Aptitude and Intelligence Test 2025, conducted through the Pavitra portal, has been released. It recommends 11,493 candidates for interviews and teaching skill tests against 10,328 vacancies in schools run by private managements. The recommendations cover a total of 27,145 preferences of these candidates.

Appointing authorities have been directed to complete the interviews and teaching skill tests between November 3 and November 25. Under the provisions of the government resolution, candidates are to be interviewed and tested between November 3 and November 25, 2026.

Recommended candidates and the managements concerned are being informed by SMS. Candidates can log in to the official Pavitra portal website to check their selection status. The management-wise general merit list has been placed under the "Download" menu on the website's homepage.

A state-level grievance redressal and correction committee has been formed to resolve complaints about selection in the category on the Pavitra portal that does not involve interviews. Candidates concerned have been asked to send their complaints in the prescribed format to the email address [email protected] by November 7, 2026.
