The Sashastra Seema Bal has released the Head Constable-2020 CBT result, and the 1,725 shortlisted candidates face a qualifying typing test on November 16 and 18, 2026.
The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has released the result of the computer-based test (CBT) for the Head Constable-2020 recruitment examination. Candidates who sat the examination had been waiting for the result for several days. They can now check their scores and the list of shortlisted candidates on the force's official website. With the result, the recruitment process has moved to its next stage.
According to official information released by the force, 115 vacant posts of Head Constable are to be filled in this recruitment drive. A total of 1,725 candidates have qualified in the computer-based written examination for these posts. The department has released category-wise cut-off marks. The roll numbers and names of all shortlisted candidates are given in the official notification. All of them must now take part in the next, crucial stage of the selection process.
The next stage for all 1,725 candidates who passed the written examination is a skill and typing test. According to the schedule released by the department, the typing test will be held on November 16 and 18, 2026, at examination centres fixed across the country. Candidates have been advised to download their admit card and the necessary instructions from the official website for the exact date, reporting time and other guidelines.
In this stage, candidates will have to demonstrate their typing speed on a computer. The department has set minimum speeds: 35 words per minute for those typing in English, and 30 words per minute (WPM) for candidates who opt for Hindi typing.
The typing test will be only qualifying, meaning its marks will not be added to the final merit. However, passing it is mandatory. Candidates who fail to reach the prescribed speed will be eliminated even if they scored higher marks in the written examination. Only after passing the typing test will candidates be called for document verification. The final merit list of the recruitment will be prepared solely on the basis of marks obtained in the computer-based examination.
