The Union Public Service Commission has declared the Civil Services Main result; candidates must fill in details online between November 11 and 25 to get their e-summon letters.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the result of the Civil Services Main examination. Of the 13,343 candidates who appeared in the Main, 2,526 have been declared qualified for the next stage, the Personal Test (interview).

This means only about 19 per cent of those who sat the Main have reached the interview. The exact figure is given as 18.93 per cent, or one in every five candidates. The 13,343 candidates had taken the written Main examination after clearing the Preliminary.

Candidates can check their result on the commission's official website, upsc.gov.in. The result list gives the names and roll numbers of the candidates selected for the interview.

These 2,526 candidates will now go into the next round of selection for Group A and Group B posts in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), the Indian Police Service (IPS) and other central services. The interview is considered the most important stage in civil services selection after the Main. The commission will announce the interview dates separately.

Along with preparing for the interview, the selected candidates must fill in or update required information in an online form. The commission has given time from November 11 to 6 pm on November 25, 2026. The UPSC online portal will open on November 11, 2026, and candidates can update their information and submit the form until 6 pm on November 25, 2026.

The commission has made clear that the process is mandatory for all successful candidates. Those who have already uploaded the required documents and details and do not wish to change anything must still log in to the portal, check the information and submit the form in final form. Failing this, their e-summon letter, the admit card for the interview, will not be issued.

Candidates who showed their educational qualification as "Appearing" in the Preliminary form must now furnish proof of having passed the required qualification. They must also update their educational status and upload the relevant documents. Failing this, their candidature may be cancelled.

To check the result, candidates should first go to upsc.gov.in, open the "Written Results" section on the homepage and click the result link for "Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2026". The result PDF will then open on screen, where they can search by roll number or name to find out whether they have been selected for the interview. Candidates should download and keep the PDF for later use.
